Iris and Grapefruit

I've always loved this painting. I painted this from the first (and some of the few) Irises that grew in my yard from some bulbs Aunt Bunny sent me. (I think the moles or gophers or something ate the bulbs later.) They are luscious flowers. The vase is one we got as a wedding gift. This originally had a small statue I had cast in it. I later felt that detracted from the irises and replaced with the white iris.
