Rock Study, Great Falls, Triptich

This was done as three separate studies during a hot July week when I sponsored a painting class at Great Falls to study rocks and water. I think, in fact, I painted over three older paintings I didn't particularly like. It was so hot, that the process of paintign was challenging. But when I got these home and lined them up on the bureau, I immediately thought they belonged together. Together, they give a feeling of the rush of water past stone.
