Bay in Patmos

I wintered in Athens, learning enough "patois" that I could get around, and in the Spring, I took a carpet bag, my paints and some unstretched canvases and headed out to the Islands in the Aegean. Bay in Patmos (1967) and the three following paintings were painted on the island of Patmos, near the coast of Turkey. The colors in Greece were nothing like the colors in Virginia. There was very little pollution and colors were bright and saturated.
