Beauty Spot III

After keeping my "colorist" attitude in check during the 3-day Serrano workshop, I burst forth with color in this little painting of Beauty Spot III (2007). But all the color was there, anyway, really. It just waited to be discovered. I remember one of the other painters wandered up as I was finishing it and said, "Oh, it really IS that color, isn't it?" We live in a largely green and blue world. But color is there in abundance, and not only in flowers.
