Rock Creek in Winter

Rock Creek in Winter (1999) incorporates "glazing" into a painting. When I had finished the basic painting (in the studio) and it had dried, I applied transparent coats of green (to the water), orange (to the distant winter trees), and purple (to the lengthening shadows) to emphasize their clear color.
