Lassie's Sketch Group
watercolor sketch
In 92-94, I went to Lassie
Corbett's watercolor workshop in Herndon, Va at "A Place To Paint",
having realized that I'd never painted in watercolor after trying to teach
it to students in my studio. You see, I'd had "watercolors"
when I was a student, but they were really gouache, which is an opaque
watercolor. I'd never had lessons in watercolor, which handles quite differently
from oil and acrylic. This was a sketch outing at one of the local nurseries.
Everyone was sketching and painting the plants. I was sketching the group.
